Autistics, because they follow the beat of their own culture drum, may be vulnerable to rejection after unfairly brief encounters, compared to allistic peers. I think most autistics have wondered what they have done wrong after meeting someone, or why their job applications were rejected after interview. This study suggests autistics are fighting upstream against negative first impressions and snap judgments by others.
