The first thing I tell parents who want to understand their Autistic kids better is this. Autistic brains deal with a large volume of data (sensory data, emotional data, thoughts and words, images, movies, social cues, nonverbal cues, extrasensory data, physical environment data, etc). Autistic brains can have multiple, simultaneous, and unrelenting data input streams.
